Cold shuts down ‘My Fair Lady,’ Community Market and more

Since the University of Mississippi has canceled all activities on campus today and Wednesday, tonight’s presentation of “My Fair Lady,” has also been canceled.
The show was set for 7:30 p.m. tonight.
According to Julia Aubrey, director of the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, the performance company has been notified of the cancellation.
“As soon as we can resume negotiations, the show will be rescheduled,” Aubrey stated in a press release.
Tickets and seat assignments will be honored for the future rescheduled performance.
The Ford Center will provide updates on the new date when it is finalized.
The first winter storm in Oxford caused cancellations of all area schools and closed down numerous businesses. Most local government offices and services have been closed since Monday and many expect to remain closed at least through Wednesday.
The Oxford Community Market, generally held at 3 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Old Armory Pavilion, will be closed today.
However, the annual Oxford Fiber Festival, planned for Friday and Saturday at the Powerhouse, has not been canceled as of Tuesday.
The Oxford Eagle will provide updates as schools and other agencies make decisions on whether to reopen and resume normal operations starting on Thursday as soon as they are made available.
