The quarterly meeting of the Lafayette County Historical and Genealogical Society will be Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the Genealogy Room on the second floor of the Lafayette County and Oxford Public Library.
The speaker will be Richard Howorth, former mayor of Oxford, former chair of the Tennessee Valley Authority and owner of the widely known, respected and loved Square Books.
It is not necessary to be a member of the LCH&G Society to attend this meeting. All are invited to attend. The library opens at 2 p.m. Sundays, and it is a good idea to arrive a few minutes early to be sure of a seat.
After the presentation, there will be a brief business meeting.
