Either you knew about this sweet spot in the county, or you missed out on a lot of summertime fun.
On out Hwy. 334, Aaron Falls on Yellowleaf Creek was a special place as swimming holes go. It was a regular hang-out for Oxford High football players when the infamous two-a-day practices started in August.
Between practices, a gang of players and other fun-seekers gathered to splash away those dog days of summer. Practically the only waterfall in the county, we could crawl into the cool space behind the falling water and celebrate being kids.
I can’t believe some were unaware of this sacred place in the county. Many a pickup truckload of high schoolers made their way out 334. Fine memories were made out there! — Pat Coleman
My family used to go swimming there in the 1960s with the Browns and the Morgans. I have pics of Tricia Lee and me in our little orange life jackets. — Teresa Duvall Flautt
