The Lafayette County Tax Collector’s office announced that due to retirement of current Collector/Assessor Sylvia Baker and the required transition of the bank accounts to newly elected Collector/Assessor Rocky Kennedy, they are not able to accept credit and debit card payments from Friday, Dec. 29, through Jan. 1, 2024.
Tax payments can be made only in-person, with cash, check or money order. There will be no online payments for tax and vehicle renewals for the same time period of transition. The office will be closed on New Year’s Day and will resume normal business hours on January 2, 2024 and ALL payment options.
