Oxford Police investigating pedestrian-involved accident

The Oxford Police Department is investigating an accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian last week.
On April 3, officers with OPD responded to an accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 7 near Windsor Falls Drive at approximately 11:58 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive male. The male was identified as Timothy Owens, 40 of Oxford.
Owens was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck Owens stayed on the scene and was cooperative with investigators, according to OPD. The accident is considered under investigation and no further information was released.
