JJ Pegues to make college decision Wednesday

Oxford four-star tight end and reigning state champion JJ Pegues will make arguably the biggest decision of his life on Wednesday morning.
Pegues will make his college decision at 8 a.m. Wednesday in an event at the Oxford High School gymnasium. The Chargers senior will be choosing between Ole Miss, Alabama and Auburn.
It’s been a season, and really a career, of accolades for JJ Pegues. Most notably, he was named the MVP of the MHSAA 6A State Championship game earlier this month, a game where he accounted for 142 yards from scrimmage and two scores. During his senior season as a whole, he totaled over 1,200 all-purpose yards and scored 18 touchdowns.
On Oct. 3, Pegues narrowed his recruiting pool down to three schools – hometown Ole Miss and two others in the SEC West in Alabama and Auburn. He took his official visit to Ole Miss on Nov. 29, just days before the firing of former head coach Matt Luke.
The decision to fire Luke really made Pegues reconsider some things, as surely he did again when the Rebels brought in Lane Kiffin to run the program.
Now Pegues, among some of the other top recruits from across the nation, will make his college decision on Wednesday, the opening day of the early college football signing window.
Pegues’ event is not open to the public; only to the school, family and media.
