Jay Leake, 54, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church (109 Hwy. 7, Water Valley, MS 38965). A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., also at Anchor Baptist Church. There will also be a graveside service at 4:15 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery (Cemetery Rd., Carrollton, MS 38917). Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. 

Jay was born on March 13, 1965, in Oxford. He attended Anchor Baptist Church with his wife and son. Jay was devoted to his family, making sure he was the best husband and daddy he could be. 

Jay is survived by his wife, Susan Meriwether Leake, and their son, Alex Leake, both of Oxford; a daughter, Rebecca Leake, of Water Valley, Miss.; and his mother and stepfather, Lynn and Ray Bennett, of Oxford.
