Verna Mae Rogers McAlexander, 88, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at the Hermitage in Oxford. She was a retired RN.

She is survived by her children, Dianne Dickerson, Bobby McAlexander, Larry McAlexander (Farrah), Brenda Bailey Shaw (Ronnie), and Doug McAlexander (Lyla); sister, Martha Jean Rogers DeBerry; grandchildren, Shana Clark (Andrew), Joey McAlexander (Elise), Leah Christman (Joe), Preston McAlexander (Meredith), Jeff McAlexander (Kassie), Logan Bailey (Nikki), Molly Harwell (Lee), Brooke Wright (Mickey), Jane Ella Stedman (Jessie), Zach McAlexander (Jessie), Bob Dickerson (Mary), Zane McAlexander (Karen), and Zoe McAlexander (Kayla); great grandchildren, Shelby, Holly, Kinsey, Hunter, Farrah Callie, Vivian, Ellaree, Dylan, Colin, Kailee, Daniel, Sam, Claire, Bobby, Emily, Era, Will Collins, Wyatt, Andi, Asa, Alex, Charlie, Stevie, Lizzie, Henry, Jeremiah, Katelyn, Stephanie, Georgia and Maggie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob McAlexander; parents, John and Bennie Brown Rogers; and brothers, Ferrell Rogers, W. B. Rogers, Bobby Rogers and Charles Rogers.

 

Services were held Friday, July 5, 2019, at 12 p.m. at the Holly Springs Funeral Home in Holly Springs, Miss. Burial followed in Red Banks Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
