Obituary – Dr. William Shadrach Young

Dr. William Shadrach Young, 89, who resided in Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away in his home on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
Dr. Young was a retired Chiropractor, who practiced for well over fifty years in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Water Valley, Mississippi, and Oxford, Mississippi as well. He was a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Mississippi Chiropractic Association and Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation. He attended the Texas Chiropractic College and graduated from San Antonio College and Bebout College of Chiropractic in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, having served in the Korean Conflict in the early 1950’s.
He was predeceased by his wife, Amelia Frances Dassinger; his parents, Joseph Enoch Young and mother Rubie Essery Young; his aunt, Ruth Young McKay and her husband, J. Lester McKay, who raised him from an infant.
He is survived by his only child, his daughter, Karen Young and her husband, John Weaver. Her children Lindsey Bostick Butler (Trent), and their children Canon and Tatum, Chelsey Bostick Sisco (Michael) and their daughter Campbell and his grandson, his only namesake, Ryan Shadrach Bostick (Hannah) and their son, Leland.
A graveside service will be held in Mississippi at a later date, where his remains will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Amelia Frances Dassinger.
