OPD arrests man for felony false pretense

- On Thursday, October 18, 2018, the Oxford Police Department arrested Calvin Scott Jr (23 of Memphis, TN) on a felony false pretense warrant. On Thursday, September 27, 2018, officers with OPD took a report that the victim had sold a vehicle to Scott on September 16, 2018. Scott paid for the vehicle with a cashier’s check in the amount of $13,806.72. When the victim went to deposit the check he was notified at that the check was returned. Scott was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $15,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
A Memphis man has been arrested by the Oxford Police Department on a charge of felony false pretense.
On Sept. 27, OPD took a report that a victim has sold a vehicle to Calvin Scott, Jr., 23, of Memphis, Tenn. The vehicle was sold on Sept. 16, 2018.
Scott paid for the vehicle with a cashier’s check in the amount of $13,806.72. However, when the victim went to deposit the check, he was notified that the check was returned.
Scott was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and booked for one charge of felony false pretense. He was given a bond of $15,000 by a Justice Court judge.
