Mrs. Anita Lee Hodges Hibbs, 86, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Vanderlip officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery.
Born in Pontotoc County to the late Irla Singletary and James Lamond Hodges, Mrs. Hibbs was the widow of Mr. Albert Elvin Hibbs. Mrs. Hibbs was a skilled RN and worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi before retiring from Yalobusha County Hospital. She was a former member of the MS Registered Nurses Association and was an active member of Taylor Baptist Church. An avid reader, Mrs. Hibbs especially enjoyed fiction, mysteries and documentaries. She enjoyed spending time with her family and serving homecooked meals made with love using the vegetables from her garden. Mrs. Hibbs enjoyed the simple moments in life, loved music, playing the piano and all animals- especially cats and chickens. Above all, she will be remembered for her love of family.
Survivors include her daughter, Letitia Reeves and her husband, Ray of Flora, Miss.; a son, Eric L. Hibbs of Oxford; two grandchildren, Jake and Corey Reeves and a great-grandson on the way.
