OPD arrests man for credit card theft, investigation ongoing

OPD arrested Matthew Brown, 27 of Oxford, on Sept. 2 following a victim’s report that his credit card information was used to order Landshark Delivery. The person was unaware how the suspect got his information, but officers went to the address where the food was delivered and spoke with Brown.
Brown stated he was unaware how the food got to his residence. The investigation lead to Brown being a suspect in not only this case but in at least five other cases, and had been using identities of people in different states to start credit card accounts.
Brown was arrested on Sept. 9 and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center, where he was booked on six counts of obtaining for unlawful use, personal identity information. His bond was set at $60,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
