Mr. Anthony F.X. Leppa, 86, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leppa was born in Bayside, Long Island, N.Y., on May 4, 1932. He held degrees from New York Institute of Dietetics, Mountainview College and the New York Institute of Technology. Mr. Leppa was recognized through the Omicron-Kappa Chapter for conspicuous attainments and scholarship in the field of history. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, who was trained as a combat medic. Mr. Leppa spent most of his career as a Food Service Director in several colleges across the country, providing quality meals to students.
Mr. Leppa is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Leppa of Oxford, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, living both in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Leppa was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Xavier Leppa and Angela Leppa, of Rome, Italy.
In honor of Mr. Leppa’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home.
