James “Jim” Edward Kemp

Mr. James (Jim) Edward Kemp, 80, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, from noon to 2 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Cambridge Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jim Peterman and Bro. Jay Derryberry will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kemp was born in Corinth, Miss. He was known to be an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Kemp was fascinated by hunting and fishing. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Mr. Kemp was always proud of his quality tomatoes.
Mr. Kemp was also a member of Cambridge Methodist Church.
Mr. Kemp is survived by his wife, Juanita Kemp of Abbeville, Miss.; one son, Frank (Lisa) Kemp of Abbeville; one daughter, Melanie Sisson of Abbeville; one granddaughter, Christa Sisson of Abbeville; three grandsons, William Brant Sisson and Tyler Kemp, both of Abbeville, and Jerred Sullivan of Athens, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, Preston Sullivan and Elliot Sullivan, both of Oxford; one brother, Royce Kemp of Corinth, Miss.; one sister, Marketa Kemp of Iuka, Miss.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kemp was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Kemp and Beatrice Kemp and one brother, Charles Kemp.
