Fans attending Meet the Rebels on Saturday will get their first look at Ole Miss’ new on-field mascot.
The school announced it will unveil the new mascot as part of the day’s festivities at the Manning Center, where Ole Miss’ football, soccer, volleyball and rifle teams will sign autographs beginning at 1 p.m. Ole Miss in October announced the landshark as the school’s official mascot, replacing the black bear.
The landshark was originally adopted by the football team in 2008 after being introduced by the late Tony Fein, a former linebacker who returned to Ole Miss after serving in the military.
Admission to Meet the Rebels is free.
