Mr. James Keith Thomas, 73, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at his home in Oxford. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, at Shiloh Baptist Church (31 CR 429, Oxford, MS 38655), at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Abbeville Cemetery.  Bro. Steve Quarles and Bro. Stacy Watkins will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomas was born and raised in Pontotoc County and later moved to Lafayette County. He spent most of his adult life as a farmer. Mr. Thomas also took up driving trucks and working part-time for the county a little later in life. He loved working with his cattle, and he was the happiest on a tractor. Mr. Thomas was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved his church, his family and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Peggy Thomas of Oxford; his mother, Mable Thomas of Water Valley, Miss.; his son, Jeff (Lisa) Thomas of Arlington, Tenn.; his daughter, Sarah Thomas of Oxford; two grandsons, James (Manychanh) Thomas of Killeen, Texas, and Drew B. (Megan) Thomas of Littleton, Colo.; three brothers, Gale (Loretta) Thomas, Ricky (Marie) Thomas and Ronnie (Tina) Thomas, all of Oxford; two sisters, Paulette (Charles) Dennis of Water Valley, and Sandra Collums of Golden, Miss. and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, James Troy Thomas.
