Dennis Ray Carwile

Dennis Ray Carwile, 63, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at his home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Monday, April 2, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry East and Rev. Shane McGivney officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon at the church.
Born in Oxford to the late Annie Lanell Fesmire and Donald Ray Carwile, Mr. Carwile was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church, the NRA, The American Quarter Horse Association and the Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officer’s Association. He was an avid Ole Miss football fan and was always a “Ford” man. His career was in service to others as a deputy with the Lafayette County Sherriff’s Department, as an E5 Sergeant in the United States Army and serving in the Military Police Corps. While serving, Mr. Carwile also played the trumpet in the military band.
Mr. Carwile is survived by his wife of 17 years, Judy Collins Carwile of Oxford, two granddaughters, Reece and Avery, and a host of loving family and friends.
In honor of Mr. Carwile’s service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
