Town buzzing about Old Navy’s arrival

When we released the news last evening that retailer Old Navy is coming to Oxford social media buzzed with the news.
Yes, Oxford is still small enough that news of arriving known national retailers gets people excited.
Coming to Oxford Galleria II off West Jackson Avenue, Old Navy will join other national tenants including Ross, Marshalls and Ulta Beauty.
Founded in 1994 as a division of Gap Inc., Old Navy has 1,000 stores including locations in Tupelo and Memphis. But Oxford has never had national retailers like Old Navy until recent years, with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls and others in Oxford Galleria II so such news is still big news.
There will be more to come, since Oxford’s arrival as home to known national retailers is only beginning. Trezevant Realty Corporation, which handled the lease negotiations for the Old Navy arrival, said that “another larger anchor store new to Oxford will be positioned next to Old Navy” and will be announced in the coming weeks.
In time we will know, but for now, it’s Old Navy as the news, giving Oxford’s national retail mix an addition that many in the community are clearly excited about.
