It’s been a frustrating time of late for Ole Miss’ basketball team.
The Rebels entered Tuesday’s game at Missouri having lost seven straight games and nine of 10, a stretch that led head coach Andy Kennedy to end his 12-year tenure early with an immediate resignation Sunday. Assistant Tony Madlock will serve as the acting head coach for the rest of the season.
Ole Miss won Madlock’s head coaching debut with a 90-87 overtime victory over the Tigers — the Rebels’ first since Jan. 23 and their first on the road in 10 tries this season. Players broke out in a lively celebration in the visitors’ locker room afterward, which including dousing Madlock with water.
