Marie Hight Brooks, 79, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 11, 2018.  She was born August 18, 1938, to the late Henry Grady Hight and Lula Mai Baker Hight in Coffeeville, Miss.  Marie was married to the late Mitchell Brooks and was a homemaker who enjoyed embroidering, reading and working in the nursery at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville, where she was a member. She had a faithful dog named Katie whom she loved dearly.

Visitation is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley.  Family and friends will process to Goshen Cemetery in Coffeeville for a 2 p.m. graveside service with Rev. Steve Albonetti officiating.

Marie is survived by a daughter, Donna (Bob) Mooney of Batesville, Miss.; two sons, Don (Katie) Brooks of Oxford, Miss., and Daniel (Jennifer) Brooks of Grenada, Miss.; one sister, Mildred Goudy of Byhalia, Miss.; and four grandchildren, Ashlyn, Preston, Jackson, and Cara.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Brooks; three sisters, Margaret Walker, Dorothy Riles and Catherine Jackson; and one brother, Elmer Hight.
