Happy Fourth of July!

Let’s stand up for this country, together, and celebrate the freedom that we have today, and that we will have tomorrow. This year, it matters maybe more than ever before.

America’s freedom is not something to take for granted, after all. We have seen in Russia hacking and tampering with United States affairs that we are vulnerable. We have also seen in the contentious political atmosphere that seems reach a new low with each passing day that the citizenry of this country must unite rather than divide so we can rise above it all.

We are a great nation, and that’s not just a Fourth of July cliché.

It’s true. America is made up of the most caring, intellectual, creative, hard-working and freedom-minded people in the world. We have overcome great battles internally before, fighting for civil rights, fighting for equality for the disabled, and so much more.

We have also successfully joined together and battled our enemies abroad so that our freedom remains intact.

These are challenging times, indeed. But our best approach on a day like today is standing together, as Americans. We are one nation under God with a commitment to provide an opportunity for all and the freedoms that go with that.

Today, we get to celebrate that, together. Happy Fourth of July!
