Ole Miss football is just fine

It’s hard to believe the start of the Ole Miss football season is just more than two months away.
And here’s good news: The Rebel Nation is as alive and well as ever before.
No worries that a bowl ban and a losing season last year has dampened much spirit and support, since season tickets sales have flourished.
EAGLE college beat writer Davis Potter reports today the latest on Ole Miss season tickets sales and the news for Oxford businesses and Rebel fans is good, since sales are just slightly off last year’s sell-out pace, and they are not off by much.
In fact, Ole Miss is just several thousand tickets shy of a sellout, not counting student tickets. In most years of the university’s football history that many season tickets sold would be an all-time record. Also, the season does not kick off for two more months so the Rebels could still reach sellout status.
Earlier this month a handful of remaining club seats went on sale to the general public and everything available in the new field club, located in the South end zone, was taken within a day.
That, along with the near sell-out status, is a good indication that the foundation Ole Miss athletics has built for football and fan support is as strong as ever. And indications are that Oxford will be as busy as ever before this football season.
