Ole Miss men’s basketball’s conference opponents for the 2017-18 season were announced Thursday with only a slight variation from the previous year.
Like every season, the Rebels will play half of their 18-game league slate at The Pavilion and half on the road while getting rival Mississippi State, Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri and Tennessee twice on the schedule. Arkansas, an NCAA Tournament team a season ago, is the only team Ole Miss didn’t play twice last season that it will face two times in the upcoming season, replacing Final Four participant South Carolina as the Rebels’ fifth dual conference opponent.
Ole Miss will play them once at home and once on the road. The rest of the Rebels’ league slate includes home games against Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Vanderbilt and trips to Kentucky, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M.
Times and television designations will be released at a later date. Ole Miss has opened SEC play against Kentucky three straight seasons.
Ole Miss is coming off a 22-14 season that saw the Rebels advance to the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals. Ole Miss is losing All-SEC forward Sebastian Saiz while head coach Andy Kennedy has made a handful of other roster changes, but the Rebels have two of their top three scorers returning in Deandre Burnett and Terence Davis with the highest-ranked recruiting class in school history coming in.
