David and Jill Carwyle of Oxford and Johnette Taylor of Cincinnati announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Carwyle, to Ty Priest, son of Melisa and Donnie Priest of Pontotoc.

The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m., June 3, 2017, at Furrs Baptist Church in Pontotoc. A reception with family and friends will immediately follow at the Pontotoc Community Center.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Jane Carwyle and the late John Carwyle of Thaxton, and the late Johnny and Lorene Taylor of Banner.

She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is currently a teacher at Pontotoc Middle School.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Patricia Priest and the late Buddy Priest of Pontotoc, and Charles and Betty Frederick of Furrs.

He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He is currently a teacher and a coach at Falkner High School.
