Thank you, Pat!

On behalf of the entire Ole Miss family — students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and friends — thank you for your work as mayor of Oxford in partnering with the university to maintain and enhance the finest town-gown relationship in the country.

Thank you for your leadership in this special LOU community made up of the county, city and university.  I have the privilege of working with many people who do the things — big and small — that make Oxford and Ole Miss a sought-after destination and home for students, retirees, scholars, entrepreneurs, families and so many others.

The growth of Ole Miss, Oxford and Lafayette County requires that we work together closely, and although we have infrequently disagreed here and there about an issue, there was never a doubt about your commitment to finding the best outcome for all of us.

On a personal level, Sharon and I want to thank you for making us feel so welcome.  Your friendship and counsel were important to us when we arrived at Ole Miss, and I look forward to continuing our friendship as you leave the Mayor’s office.
