Oxford has plenty of dining options if you’re craving chicken (fried or grilled) for dinner. But now a chain eatery devoted to chicken salad will be a new option in town.
Founded in Auburn, Alabama in 2008, Chicken Salad Chick, a fast casual restaurant concept (and the only one based around chicken salad), will be opening its first Mississippi location in Oxford on Tuesday, March 28 at 1305 Merchants Dr. in the Galleria II Shopping Center.
For the launch, husband and wife franchisee duo Robin and Will Clayton have a week of deals ready for Oxonians including the chance to win free chicken salad meals for a year from the restaurant and free kids meals for children 12 and under on April 1 (with the purchase of “The Chick” chicken salad meal for adults).
The Claytons, who live in Oxford, have been involved with the brand for seven years now after Robin’s sister worked at the company’s corporate office.
“As a long-time fan and frequent customer of Chicken Salad Chick, it has always been a dream of mine to own a location,” Robin said. “After visiting friends and family in Oxford, we knew it was the perfect market for Chicken Salad Chick with its Southern small-town charm and pleasant atmosphere. Our family is eager to get started spreading the ‘chick’ love with the Ole Miss community.”
Chicken Salad Chick currently has 65 restaurants open across the Southeast.
The franchise in Oxford will be open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
