Special Christmas Day issue of the Eagle coming Sunday

We’re doing it differently this Christmas.
In years’ past, Christmas Day has always been the one day of the year The Oxford EAGLE does not publish (besides Saturdays, of course).
But this year, with Christmas falling on a Sunday, The EAGLE will publish a newspaper, making a special Oxford holiday tradition edition.
Sunday’s Christmas paper will feature content from Oxford’s Christmases past, including some delightful items dating as far back as the 1950s.
Don’t worry – nobody at the newspaper will be working on Christmas. We plan to print and deliver this special Christmas issue early.
Expect home delivery on Saturday, Christmas Eve, so that you can enjoy the content throughout the weekend.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our community’s history,” said EAGLE editor Alex McDaniel. “Our archives are a treasure trove and Christmas is the perfect time to share that with our readers.”
With a Sunday paper, The EAGLE will take a holiday on Monday, December 26. On that day, there will not be a newspaper. We will resume regular publication on Tuesday, December 27.
“We have dedicated employees who often do some work six days a week,” Publisher David Magee said. “This schedule allows us to give most a break for a few days to enjoy Christmas with family and friends. It also allows us to showcase some treasured memories from Oxford’s past Christmases.”
