A fresh start for Ole Miss football

It’s a whole new ballgame for Ole Miss football and head coach Hugh Freeze.
With new offensive and defensive coordinators hired and new staff members on the way, Freeze and the Rebels are getting the kind of fresh start that normally comes with hiring a new head coach.
It’s not unusual for one coordinator to be replaced after a losing season like the Rebels experienced this past year, but it is unusual for a head coach entering his sixth season to have to practically totally rebuild a staff.
What that means for Ole Miss football remains to be seen since the results are determined on the field. What we do know so far is that new offensive coordinator Phil Longo calls this Ole Miss appointment a “dream job.”
We also know that new defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff comes highly respected.
But, a completely fresh start on both offense and defense also leaves questions, because one never knows how a new staff will meld until the games are played.
Here’s hoping Freeze is on the right track and that this fresh start is the beginning of good days to come for Ole Miss football.
