Patrick Willis made millions of dollars during a successful eight-year NFL career, but the former Ole Miss All-American is fighting to get some of them back.
Willis, a seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker with the San Francisco 49ers who starred at Ole Miss from 2003-06, abruptly retired from the NFL after the 2014 season and soon went into business with Eren Niazi in Niazi’s startup tech company, Open Source Storage, a company in which Willis became an investor.
But things weren’t nearly what they seemed. Now Willis is accusing his ex-imprisoned business partner of fraud and breach of contract and suing him for millions.
Exactly who was Willis dealing with in Niazi? And how did things get to this point? A lengthy piece by Inc. Magazine provides the details.
