Oxford man charged with burglary

An Oxford man’s bond has been set at $2,500 after being charged with one count of burglary on Monday.
James Mathis, 54, allegedly burglarized a dwelling on Johnson Avenue Extended on June 2.
Oxford Police Department said Mathis was stopped by an investigator that saw him walking from that area while carrying a garbage bag full of something. He gave consent to search the bag and the investigator allegedly found items stolen from the dwelling.
