Two 18-year-old teens were arrested Thursday for their alleged involvement in several burglaries in Oxford and Lafayette County.
On May 18, the Oxford Police Department received a suspicious activity call that reported people were running from houses in the Grand Oaks subdivision. Investigators discovered two homes had been burglarized. There were also several other houses with windows broken but no entry was made.
On May 24, OPD received a call in the Notting Hill subdivision regarding a house and vehicle burglary.
Items from Grand Oaks and Notting Hill burglaries were later found in the woods near the Brittany Woods subdivision.
Later in the week more vehicles were reported broken into on Access Road. During one of those calls, officers got into a foot chase with two men who were eventually caught.
Brandon Slate and Khivante Brannon, both of Oxford, were charged with several counts of burglary. Slate is also facing a grand theft from Huddle House where he allegedly stole an iPad from the business.
The two were taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where they were each booked on $20,000 bonds.
