Five Ole Miss seniors will compete in postseason showcases in the coming days to put their talents on display prior to prepping for the 2016 NFL Draft.
Free safety Chief Brown, offensive tackle Fahn Cooper, wide receiver Cody Core, cornerback Mike Hilton and offensive guard Aaron Morris are representing Ole Miss in three different senior games all across the country, with two kicking off this Saturday.
Brown competed in the 2016 College Gridiron Showcase, which was a four-day event in Bedford, Texas, ending in a scrimmage in front a host of NFL scouts. The game took place Jan. 13, with Brown competing alongside athletes from all NCAA divisions including five fellow SEC schools.
After redshirting his freshman year in 2011, Brown appeared in 43 games over the next four seasons. The Mississippi native recorded 83 tackles, recovered three fumbles and logged three interceptions. He earned his degree from the University in psychology this fall.
Cooper and Core will compete in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game will be televised on the NFL Network at 3 p.m.
Cooper started every game for the Rebels in 2014 and 2015, seeing action at both left and right tackle. He earned a spot on the 2015 UMAA honor role and was the recipient of the 2015 Kent Hull trophy, given to the best offensive lineman in the state of Mississippi.
Core appeared in all 13 games in 2015, earning the start in nine at wide receiver for the Rebels. The Auburn, Alabama, native compiled 1,297 yards on 83 receptions with 10 touchdowns in his four years at Ole Miss. He played in all but one game in his career and helped the team to four straight bowl appearances.
