The Mississippi Highway Patrol has released more information about an accident on Oct. 9 near Abbeville.

The four-vehicle accident took the life of Triston Luevano, 49, of Houston, Texas.

According to MHP, at approximately 6:40 a.m. a car driven by Kristopher Griste, 22, of Oxford, struck the side of a southbound freight liner driven by Aubrey Canon of Whiteville, Tenn.

Griste’s car, which was traveling north on Highway 7 at the time of the incident, then struck Luevano’s car.

A fourth car, driven by Carlos Gomez-Morales, later collided with the other cars involved in the accident.

Griste and Gomez-Morales were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi for treatment.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by MHP.
