Ole Miss basketball coach Kermit Davis’ first commitment for the 2019 recruiting class is a big one.
Centennial High (Roswell, Georgia) power forward Rodney Howard announced his verbal pledge to the Rebels with a post to his Twitter account Tuesday. Howard, a four-star prospect according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings, committed to Ole Miss over offers from Georgia, Middle Tennessee State and UAB among others.
The 247Sports composite ranks the 6-foot-10, 205-pound Howard as the No. 9 recruit in Georgia and the nation’s No. 114 prospect for 2019.
Howard’s pledge makes it three commitments in the last week for Ole Miss following the commitments of 2018 prospects KJ Buffen and Blake Hinson. The Rebels have two scholarships remaining for the 2018 class, which also includes signees Brian Halums and Zach Naylor.
