Ole Miss basketball’s recruiting class is down another signee.

Perry Hall (Baltimore, Maryland) forward Anthony Higgs was released from his scholarship over the weekend, a school spokesperson confirmed. Higgs, a consensus three-star prospect, announced with a post to his Twitter account Saturday that he was reopening his recruitment.

The 6-foot-8 Higgs is the second signee to be released from his scholarship following former coach Andy Kennedy’s resignation and the subsequent hire of Kermit Davis, joining Florida four-star guard Serrel Smith, who was the Rebels’ highest-rated signee. Smith’s request for his release was granted by Davis after Davis made an in-home visit with Smith over the weekend, but Smith tweeted that Ole Miss is “completely still on the table.”

Higgs seemed to indicate that Ole Miss is no longer an option for him with part of his post stating he’s “rooting for the success of the school.”

That leaves junior college signees Brian Halums and Zach Naylor as the only remaining members of the Rebels’ 2018 recruiting class. Ole Miss has four available scholarships for the spring signing period, which begins April 11.
