James “Jim” Howard Cregar Jr

James “Jim” Howard Cregar Jr., 81, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford. He was born March 14, 1937, in East Liverpool, Ohio to James Howard Cregar Sr. and Margaret Gehley Cregar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner of Truck Parts & Service Inc. and a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at United Funeral Service with Bro. Charles Lipe officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany will be in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Azlin Cregar; a daughter, Lori Cregar Giles (Tommy); a son, James “Jimmy” Howard Cregar III (Donna); a brother, William “Bob” Robert Cregar (Gayle); five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their friends lovingly called him “Big.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Kenneth Cregar; and a granddaughter, Eva Nicole Cregar.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Machak, Dustin Pounders, Benji Azlin, Bill Azlin, Chris Marmion, Guillermo Samaniego, and Charles West. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Cregar, Zach Cregar, Chad Cregar, Collin Giles, and Haleigh Giles.

Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2018, from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
