In conjunction with the monthly Oxford Arts Crawl, a reception will be held Tuesday for the opening of “Love = Love” at University Museum from 6-8 p.m.

“Love = Love” is a series of collages that were created by artist Kent Rogowski using pieces of more than 60 store bought puzzles. Although the puzzle pieces are unique and can only fit into one place within a puzzle, they are sometimes interchangeable within a brand, according to Rogowski.

He said the puzzles were cut using the same die, yet depict unrelated images.

“Using only the flowers and skies from each of the puzzles, I created a series of entirely new compositions by recombining the puzzle pieces,” Rogowski said. “These spectacular, fantastical and surreal landscapes sit in direct contrast to the banal and bucolic images of the original puzzles.”

The exhibit will be on display at University Museum through Sept. 16.
