The Teachers of the Year for the Lafayette County School District have been announced.

At their monthly meeting earlier this week, the Lafayette School Board revealed their recipients. The teachers are Connie McCluskey (Lafayette Elementary), Emmie Angel (Upper Elementary), Katie Szabo (Middle) and Josh Quong (High School). In addition, McCluskey was named the District Teacher of the Year.

McCluskey has been teaching for 22 years and she is currently in her fifth year teaching Kindergarten.

“I feel very honored and blessed to receive Teacher of the Year for Lafayette Elementary School and for the District,” McCluskey said in an email. “I have been teaching for 22 years and love it.  I am presently in my 5th year of teaching Kindergarten. It is challenging, but so rewarding.”
