The Oxford four are back together again — this time playing for the Ole Miss Rebels baseball team.

As members of the Oxford High School baseball team, Grae Kessinger, Thomas Dillard, Jason Barber and Houston Roth set records and won state championships. Now, they begin the 2017 baseball season as freshmen on the Ole Miss team and it has Rebel fans and the Oxford community ready for the action.

It’s rare that freshman players can bring this much excitement to a program, but this highly regarded Ole Miss recruiting class is one of the best in the nation. The fact that the best in the nation features four from Oxford means so much more.

It also helps that these young men have high, character, which gets most everyone behind them.

Ole Miss plays its season opener on Friday against a Top-10 East Carolina team and our Oxford four will be in the middle of it. Kesssinger and Dillard may even be in the starting lineup.

Speaking of Kessinger, having a third generation member of that great Rebel baseball family on the field is inspiring as well.

So we, like much of the rest of the community, will be excited to see the Oxford four together again, this time in Ole Miss uniforms.
