Christmas may be the season of goodwill toward men for many, but for some, it’s the season of theft and vandalism.

The Oxford Police Department made four arrests on Wednesday and Thursday on a variety of charges from vehicle theft to felony malicious mischief.

On Wednesday, officers responded to Riverside Place apartments for a report of felony malicious mischief. The officers spoke with the alleged victim who claimed Salena Buck of Oxford punctured his tires and kicked his car. The complainant provided a vehicle description and officers located the vehicle. When questioned, Buck became disorderly with officers and was arrested. She was charged with disorderly conduct and felony malicious mischief after the damage to the vehicle was estimated to be more than $1,000.

Buck was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $5,000 bond.

On Thursday, OPD charged two Oxford residents with three counts of burglary and one count of credit card fraud. According to reports, Melvin Johnson, 23, and Susan Wadley, 32, allegedly broke into cars on Old Taylor and Anderson roads. They were taken to the detention center and booked on bonds of $20,000 each.

Also that day, OPD officers served an arrest warrant on Malcolm Crump, 25, of Belden and charged him with five counts of residential burglary for allegedly breaking into an apartment at The Retreat.

According to reports, on Nov. 6, Crump was accused of breaking into an apartment and then each inner door inside the apartment into four bedrooms rented by separate people. Several items were stolen from all four bedrooms.

Crump was taken to the detention center where he was booked on a $20,000 bond.
