Oxford Treehouse Gallery has new work from current artists Martha Ferris, John Haltom, Dan Piersol and David Rawlinson.

Ferris experiments across a growing range of media. In the past few years she has focused on a series of paintings, Cityscapes, that extends her sense of place far beyond her family farm near Vicksburg.

At age 7, Haltom began teaching himself how to handcraft solid wood longbows, and at the age of sixteen he was admitted as the youngest ever member of the Mississippi Craftsman’s Guild. After living in Seattle for several years he now lives in Oxford and operates Roxie Woodworks.

Piersol’s gestural works on paper are intuitive responses to his surroundings. Working in gouache, charcoal, ink and collage, he translates his inspirations–landscape, weather, flora and fauna– into vibrant line and color expressions infused with emotion.

Rawlinson is an avid fisherman and often incorporates that love into his art. His art studio is in his lake cabin in North Mississippi.
