Anna Claire Gourlay, 72, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at The Blake in Oxford. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ann Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Jackson to the late Hoyt and Dorothy Nicholson Williams, Mrs. Gourlay was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and a former member of St. James Episcopal Church in Jackson. She was married to John Gourlay Jr. on June 21, 1983. She was a watercolor artist and a member of the Gaddis Group of Watercolor Artists in Jackson. Mrs. Gourlay was a homemaker and an avid Ole Miss fan.

She is survived by her husband, John Gourlay of Oxford; daughter, Stephanie Johansen Coghlin and her husband, Ken of Oxford; son, George Gourlay of Oxford; sister, Judy Jernigan of Madison; brother, John H. Williams of Jackson and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Gourlay’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905.
