OXFORD — Richard “Dick” Coltharp Goodman, 82, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. John Moore, the Rev. Warren Black and the Rev. Eddie Rester officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be today from noon until service time at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Born in New Albany, he was retired from McKeeson Drug Company where he worked as a sales director in Mississippi. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served as a first lieutenant. He was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church, an avid golfer, amateur chef and master of the grill. He enjoyed working out and frequent visits to the beach.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Brown Goodman.
He is survived by his wife Erma Tubbs Goodman of Oxford; daughters Kathy Goodman Howell of Olive Branch, Lynn Goodman Moderow of Memphis, Tennessee, Nita Churchill Knight and Donna Churchill Mooney, both of Oxford; son Gary Wayne Churchill of Oxford and six grandchildren.
