Employee charged with embezzlement

An employee of Habits Tobacco has been arrested and charged with embezzlement for allegedly stealing $4,275 from the store.
According to the Oxford Police Department, on May 26, the owners of Habits filed a report claiming William Hammond, 23, of Oxford, embezzled the money from Feb. 28 through some time in May.
Hammond was arrested Friday and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $5,000 bond.
