Raybon Jenkins

OXFORD — Raybon Jenkins, 87, of Water Valley, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at New Providence MB Church in Yalobusha County with the Rev. Albert Booker, the Rev. Tommy Goodwin and the Rev. Sidney Townes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, which is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Yalobusha County, he was a member of New Providence MB Church and worked at Whirlpool where he retired after 26 years of service. He was a devoted father and grandfather, who enjoyed gardening, watching wrestling and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delia Mae Hawkins Jenkins; daughter Joyce Mahalia; son Charles Lynn Jenkins; sister Myrtis Greenwood; brothers Calvin Jenkins, Woodrow Jenkins, Eugene Jenkins, James Jenkins, Walter Jenkins, J.T. Winters and Walter Winters.
He is survived by daughters Annette Daniels of Water Valley, Maudie Jenkins of Phoenix, Arizona and Marsha Brooks of Country Club Hills, Illinois; sons Barron Banory Jenkins of Joliet, Illinois, Dwight Arnett Jenkins of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jerry Wayne Jenkins Jr.; sister Annice Spencer of Chicago, Illinois; brother Walter Jenkins of Flint, Michigan; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
