Chi Omega thanks city’s hospitality

On Oct. 13-14, the Oxford Chi Omega Alumnae hosted the 51st annual Chi Omega State Day in our wonderful city. This is an annual two day event which rotates locations all around the state of Mississippi.
The last time we hosted in Oxford was in 2006, so much has changed since then.
There are many people we would like to thank for their help and expertise in making the event flow so smoothly. A big thank you goes to Mary and Sam Haskell for opening their home for our Early Arrivals party. We hosted a record crowd of alums this year — a testament to people wanting to come to Oxford. Matt Nicholas (Au Courant Floral) donated the amazing floral arrangements all throughout the Haskell home. He is so talented, and we would like to thank him for his extreme generosity. The next day our reception/luncheon was at The Inn at Ole Miss. We would like to thank Beth Ziegenhorn and Brad Clark and all their staff for setting that up.
We especially want to thank Mayor Pat Patterson and Jimmy Allgood with the city of Oxford for providing overflow parking for us since the parking situation on campus is so tight. Audie Branch (Rebel Ride) provided excellent shuttle service to and from all the events. Kinny Ferris and the staff at Visit Oxford were most helpful in providing gift bags filled with Oxford brochures and info for our guests.
We would like to thank our most generous donors of door prizes: MW2, Neilson’s, Nicole Lamar, Provision Oxford, and Eleni’s Cookies all provided amazing gifts which delighted our recipients.
We had such a fun Chi Omega State Day in Oxford. Many generations gathered to share in a wonderful sisterhood event. We were so happy to showcase Oxford and we appreciate the help of so many.
