The Oxford-Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation is taking a proactive approach to shaping the region’s future by developing a comprehensive economic development strategic plan.
In October, EDF Chief Executive Officer Ryan Miller announced that Boyette Strategic Advisors, led by founder Del Boyette, was commissioned to conduct an economic impact evaluation, workforce strategy assessment, and feasibility study for Lafayette County.
Miller emphasized the importance of collaboration between Oxford, Lafayette County, and the University of Mississippi.
“We obviously love our home, but we do face challenges in how we can grow economically while maintaining the uniqueness and authenticity we all appreciate,” Miller said. “My fervent hope is that this plan will provide a road map that guides us toward a horizon for which we can all be proud.”
Boyette strategic advisors are working with local officials, organizations and community members to craft a strategic plan that aligns with the needs and aspirations of the LOU community.
To ensure that all voices are heard, the EDF is inviting residents to participate in a community survey.
Miller encourages all community members to take part in this important initiative.
“As a part of this strategic plan, we are asking residents like you to participate in a survey,” he said. “Your answers will assist us in ensuring we consider all of the voices of our community.”
