She was an old Oxford grande dame.
Mary Alice “Bebe” Tate worked on many committees supporting all walks of Oxford life.
A career teacher, she is remembered fondly by her many students. Bebe is also credited with leading the charge to save Cedar Oaks. She is pictured here in the home’s main hall during a past Pilgrimage. In a great Jack Case Wilson shot,
Bebe is with Dolly Faulkner on the front porch at Memory House. Close friends, note them holding hands.
