More fall-like temps on the way after rain tonight

Rain is expected tonight in Oxford as a cold front moves into northern Mississippi, bringing more fall-like temperatures.
Showers are anticipated to begin around midnight, accompanied by gusty winds. According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts could reach 25 mph. The rain is expected to continue overnight and into the early morning hours on Tuesday.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible through noon on Tuesday. After the rain clears, skies should become mostly sunny, and temperatures are expected to drop significantly.
Tuesday’s high is forecast to reach 73 degrees, with a low of 48 degrees Tuesday night. On Wednesday, the high will be just 58 degrees, with overnight temperatures dropping to 38 degrees. Winds could again gust up to 25 mph.
Thursday is expected to be sunny but chilly, with a high near 56 degrees, and a low around 36 degrees. Wind gusts of up to 25 mph are likely.
A similar pattern is expected over the weekend, with sunny skies, daytime highs around 55 degrees, and nighttime lows in the mid to upper 30s.
No rain is forecast for the remainder of the week after tonight and Tuesday morning.
