Man arrested for intimidating a witness, domestic violence

A Lafayette County man was charged with a felony for intimidating a witness after being charged with domestic violence.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, deputies responded to County Road 1069 for a report of domestic violence. Jolly Jay Mitchell, 39, was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence.
During the investigation, deputies discovered Mitchell was allegedly intimidating a victim of a previous crime incident that is pending in court. He was additionally charged with intimidating a witness.
He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $25,000 bond.
